A formal kind of day

This kitchen received a workout the last few days. But it was a well thought out cooking plan this year which resulted in lots of time spent talking, playing bocce ball and going for an after dinner walk.

We went all out this year and waxed the furniture, polished grandma’s silver, starched her napkins and reached up to the top shelves to bring out her china. This year we went formal.

Today we’ll keep our wallets in our pockets and instead head out to the park with our turkey sandwiches to meet with friends.

There was so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. I hope you had a fantastic day too!

My favorite color for a kitchen, and really dig the black knobs of the dresser, very cool and elegant.

I just wanted to drop you a note and let you know I finally got around to using the Pharmaca gift card. It was a very nice store. Sooo many things to choose from. We had a great time.

I didn’t realize you had an antique stove! I want one so bad, but have been hesitant to get one off of Craigslist in case it needs to be repaired. Do you have a recommendation for a repair man or refurbished?

We love our stove! It came with the house and was serviced by Johnny’s. However I think he’s gone out of business. They are solid workhorses so once you get it going it should last forever! The only downside is that the pilot light keeps it very warm all the time. Good in winter, not so great in the dead of summer!
