Garden Cocktail Recipes ~ Let’s Relax (Day 13 of 30 DTABG)

It’s Saturday and I’m hosting a virtual cocktail party so feel free to kick up your heels and relax, okay? I have a stocked bar and I’ve cleaned the low balls and cocktail shaker. What’s your poison? I’m making a mojito with our fresh mint (before it gets it’s annual fry from the summer sun) for myself, but I also have the ingredients to make these cocktails. Just let me know what you are in the mood for and I’ll make it for you.

  • Peach Fizz Cocktail (with tarragon)
  • Sake Refresher (with cucumber)
  • Lemon Verbena and Orange Blossom Fizz (dear lord that sounds good!)
  • Vanilla, Pear & Sage Cocktail
  • Lillet – Basil Cocktail (have you tried Lillet before? so good)
  • Strawberry Basil Summer Cocktail
  • Gaspar’s Love Rosemary Cocktail

In case you can’t make it to my cocktail party, here’s how I mix my mojito:

A Sonoma Garden Mojito
Sprig of 6 mint leaves
1 t. powdered sugar
Juice of 1.5 limes
2 oz. white rum
Sparkling Water
Ice

Muddle together the mint leaves and powdered sugar in the bottom of a low ball glass. Stir in lime juice. Fill glass with ice cubes. Add rum, fill to just below the rim with sparkling water. Add an extra mint spring for good looks. Kick back and enjoy.

Go ahead, make yourself a garden inspired cocktail. You’ve worked hard all week and you deserve it.

I have to pick just one? Hmmm. The Vanilla pear sage sounds wonderful; wonder if the local store carries vanilla liqueur. And then there is the pear juice. How does one juice a pear if a juicer is not available? I had visions of a old fashioned lemon juicer with a pear. LOL

Kendra, I am absolutely LOVING 30 DTABG! You are definitely hitting all the high points, not the least of which is enjoying the garden itself! Both its produce and its ambience!

These cocktail recipes sound absolutely wonderful! Can’t wait to try them.

Looking forward to the remaining 30 days…..

I love the canning labels! I’m trying to print them on Avery round 2 1/2 inch labels which are just the right size for a canning lid, but at full size they are printing out less than 2 inches in diameter ( a little too small for the lids. Any suggestions on printer settings or something else to get the size labels I need?

    Thanks!

Hi jsmit – Adobe Reader shrinks everything slightly when it prints by default so you need to look for the setting to print it out at full size.
